Two weekends ago, Alan had to work allllll weekend long, so I decided to go home and visit with my family. My wonderful boss was gracious enough to let me have Friday off and I headed for Sweet Home Alabama Thursday evening. I was able to stop in Birmingham and grab dinner with my best friend, Courtney. We were too busy chatting it up to get a picture but it was a much needed reunion and I could have sat and talked with her for hours. She is such a blessing in my life and I sure do miss not living in the same city as her. After dinner, I was headed for Arab. I realized on my way home that I hadn't been home since Anna Scott's (my neice) first birthday party back in early May. That may not seem like a long time to some of you, but for those of you who know me, that is almost unheard of! I spent the weekend with my family and got to have lots of play time with Anna Scott. She is such a fun age right now and I loved seeing how much she had learned in just the two short weeks it had been since I saw her! We spent the weekend mostly eating and sleeping, what I do best :) We did throw a little exercising and shopping into the mix as well and it wrapped up to be a fabulous weekend at home. Only thing that was missing was my Hubby. Here are a few pics from my weekend at home. (These were taken with the i-phone so the quality is not too hot)

This lil stinker has stolen my heart. |
This past weekend two of my best friends from home, Megan and Haleigh, and their husbands came and visited Alan and me in good ole Mississippi for the weekend! A little background info:
Megan and I have been great friends since high school. She and her husband, Scott, were high school sweethearts so we all have been great friends for many years. We both moved to Birmingham after high school for college, I attended Samford and she and Scott attended UAB. Megan and I have personalities that just "click" and I love her sweet, calming spirit. I was in their wedding a few years back, and Megan was in ours this past April.
Haleigh and I go wayyyy back. We have been friends since we were preschool age. We lived two houses down from one another growing up and have countless stories of our childhood, both good and bad-ha! We have had our share of ups and downs throughout the years but have remained great friends. I am so glad that our friendship is now stronger than ever! She also married an Arab boy, Joseph, and they are just perfect for one another.
I was so excited the entire week approaching their arrival that I could hardly stand it!! I was in desperate need for some friend time. The weekend came and went so quickly but we had an absolute blast! We ate several delicious meals, did a little shopping, a little tanning, and a LOT of laughing. I literally laughed until I cried and it felt so good to just kick back and relax with old friends. It was one of the best weekends I have had in awhile and I can't wait til we all can hang out again!
Mine and Haleigh's birthdays are in August and Megan's is in July so we did a little celebrating while they were in town! |
Megan, me and Haleigh. Thankful for these two and our friendship! |
We took the gang to Keifer's for lunch on Saturday. By their "ooos and ahhhs" during the meal and their clean plates I think that it was a success! |
Just looking at this picture makes me laugh! Such a fun group of friends! |
After lunch we hit the pool. Scott decided to do some poolside yoga before showing off on the diving board. |
And there he goes....He was the entertainment for the afternoon! |
Alan decided to get in on the action. This may or may not have ended in him landing flat on his back :) We all had a good laugh. |
Love this! |
Before our yummy dinner at Bravo! on Saturday night. |
This weekend I am going to catch up on sleep and relaxation. It will be the first weekend since we moved to MS that I will have absolutely nothing to do and I am pretty excited about it! I intend to sleep as late as I want, watch as much TV as I can stand, and clean my house. Sounds fun, huh? Hope your weekend is just as relaxing and refreshing!
See ya next time!
