Welcome Baby Will

This sweet, beautiful baby boy entered the world and captured our hearts immediately.  I could hardly get to the hospital fast enough to get my hands on him. My sister went into labor on a Thursday night, ten days before her due date throwing off all of my "plans" to be there for Will's arrival.  Alan had planned on taking off the next week when we thought he would arrive so he was working.  Friday morning I woke Caroline up early, gave her a bottle, put her in the car, and (very carefully) drove from Madison to Birmingham to meet him!!!  We got there just a few hours after he made his debut.

Brand new and precious
Watching Anna Scott become a big sister was so sweet! She couldn't get enough of her baby brother. She gave kisses and couldn't stop "petting" him.  She brought him the same teddy bear that Mary Catherine brought to the hospital when I was born. Anna Scott also brought it to meet Caroline Cate when she was born. So sweet.
It was such a special time at the hospital seeing the babies together! It's hard to believe that Caroline Cate is already a big cousin. Will made her look so grown and it's so sad how quickly they grow out of the newborn stage. We are quickly becoming a crazy crew with all these kiddos but we wouldn't have it any other way! I cannot wait to watch Will and Caroline Cate become the best of friends. And of course, Anna Scott will be their boss. It is such fun chaos and we are so thankful for these blessings from the Lord.
Grandaddy and Granmomma went from one to three grandkids in three short months!
Caroline and I were able to stay a few extra days after Will came home from the hospital. We had so much fun loving on our little ones. Lots of rocking, bouncing, swinging, napping and crying :)

Sweet baby Will we love you deeply. I cannot wait to watch you grow up and I pray that your life will be full of blessings. Welcome to the family!

Father's Day

We had a wonderful day celebrating Father's Day. We are blessed with the best and so very thankful for all that Alan does for our little family. He works long, hard, tiring shifts and still comes home full of energy to play with Caroline and spend time with me. Watching him interact with Caroline is one of the sweetest things I've ever seen.  He provides for us so well and is always finding ways to make us feel special.  Caroline has had him wrapped around his finger since her first breath and I know that she will be just as smitten with him as I am!
And there is no denying that she is his daughter. She is his little mini-me.
Alan only had one request for Father's Day----homemade banana pudding. It was yummy if I do say so myself  ;)
We spent the day eating, shopping, catching up on Grey's Anatomy, playing and napping. A very fun and much needed family day!
Happy Father's Day, Daddy! We love you!!!!

Doll Baby

A trending comment when out and about and people look at Caroline Cate is "oh she looks just like a baby doll." When I was a very little girl my favorite thing to do was to play with baby dolls. I brought them to church (way longer than I should have), took them on vacations, played with them all day at home, and strolled them around the house morning, noon, and night. I would spend hours in our playroom feeding them, teaching them, changing their diapers and rocking them to sleep.  Only thing I wanted to be "when I grow up" was a mommy.
My dream has become a reality and I am so so grateful. I still wake up in the mornings and cannot believe that I have my own real live baby doll to "play" with all day long. I love her and her sweet doll face so much it hurts!

First Swim

Last week my sweet friend Laura asked if Caroline Cate and I wanted to join her and her sweet baby Charlotte for a pool date. We happily accepted her invitation and had lots of fun in the sun! Little one seemed to enjoy the water then crashed pool side after a bottle. We can't wait for many more pool days this summer!
And thank you Charlotte for letting us borrow your swimsuit. Maybe the one Mommy bought me will fit by the end of the summer. Maybe.

Anna Scott turns four...and more

This past week Caroline Cate and I went to Birmingham for a few days.  Alan had to work (boooo) so we took our first trip home alone. Thankfully the 3 1/2 hour drive went very smoothly and she slept the whole way. Not quite the same story for the ride back home but that's ok. Chick-fil-a makes a great stop for a quick bottle for baby and an icedream cone for mom. It was a win win in my book! :)

The main reason we headed home was for this sweet girl's fourth birthday party!!
I cannot believe that Anna Scott is four years old. She is so full of love (and energy) and our lives are richer because she's in it. We had a wonderful time celebrating with her at her "Under the Sea" birthday party. It was full of everything mermaid and even Ariel was in attendance. Let me just say that my talented sister sure knows how to throw a party.
Singing along with Ariel as she sang "Part of Your World." Preciousness.
Ready to hit the pool. She swam from 12:30pm-7:30pm. Only to stop for bites of cookie here and there.
Little Miss enjoyed napping in the shade and watching her big cousin splash around in the pool.
She even took a quick nap with baby cousin!
On Sunday, we headed to Arab to spend the day visiting with family and friends.
Lazy Sunday afternoons spent with Grandaddy are the best!! Love these two with my whole heart.
And we always get lots of loving from Anna Scott! She is so sweet with Caroline Cate.
We were beyond excited that Haleigh and sweet little Reagan got to meet Caroline Cate. Haleigh is one of my best childhood friends and it was so precious to see our girls together. I cannot wait for them to get older and play together just like their mommies did. Let's just hope that they don't have multiple bicycle wrecks and get their mouths washed out with soap like we did :)

The rest of out trip was spent at my sister's house in Homewood just taking it easy. Those really are the best days. Only ONE MORE YEAR and we are home for good. I cannot wait!
Being sweet. It just comes natural.
Anna Scott introduced her to all sorts of new toys!
We enjoyed a delicious lunch with Aunt Megs and Lollie!
Next time we head east will be for BABY BOY COUSIN'S debut! Counting down the days.......
