Caroline is 2.5!

This sweet picture was taken on September 4, 2017, Caroline's two and a half birthday! She is sweet, smart, sassy, independent, energetic, bossy, and has the biggest heart. She looks like her daddy but has her mommy's personality. She LOVES fruit snacks. So much so that if you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up she responds with "a fruit snack." Her favorite person in the entire world is Will Laney followed closely by Grandaddy. She remains a Mommy's girl but she sure does love her Daddy too.  She is the best big sister, always asking about John "Coyins" and making sure he is well taken care of.  She has recently transitioned into a big girl bed and after only a couple of bad nights, she is rocking it! She isn't very interested in potty training but we are also not really forcing the issue. She will go when she is ready. She still sleeps with all her "stuff" which includes two blankets, two lovies, her bunny pillow, Mr. Bear, and her beloved paci. She loves going to church and going to her mothers day out program. Her favorite movie is Alice in Wonderland and her favorite color is pink.  Whenever Alan or I leave the house she says "You going to run an errand? You be right back?" She loves going out to eat at the "restriant" (restaurant). When we are getting on to her she always says "Mommy, stop asking me!" When she does something she isn't suppose to do and I say "Caroline, why did you do that?" she responds with "Because, I did it."  Her spunk and enthusiasm are exhausting some days, and she can be quite difficult at times, but she sure makes up for it with her love and sweet heart. She consistently says "Thank you, Mommy" when I give her something she wants and "You welcome" if she does something and I thank her for it.  When she leaves the room to go do something she says "It's ok, Mommy. I gonna be right back."  She loves getting in my make-up drawer and "putting her lips on." She puts on my high heels and walks around in them daily and I must say she is pretty good at it. When she is doing something she enjoys and I tell her it's time to go she replays with "Let me do it jus a minute."  She can recite three different bible verses and loves to sing songs.  She gets more and more independent each day and we couldn't possibly love her beautiful self any more.
The best 2.5 years have been with you Caroline Catherine Cease! We love you MORE!

Simple but Sweet

Some of my favorite memories with the kids are the days we stayed home in our pajamas, ate when we wanted, bathed when we wanted, and slept when we wanted. Life in this day and time can be consumed with booked calendars and never ending to-do lists. The hustle and bustle often makes us miss the sweetest moments. So the days that we stay home and operate on our own time schedule, ignoring all the chaos around us, are the most precious days.
