Caroline's Second Birthday Party

Caroline's birthday began by Mommy and Daddy walking into her room holding balloons (thanks Aunt Meghan and Uncle Ed) and singing "Happy Birthday to You!" You could tell that she knew it was her special day!
We then celebrated with birthday pancakes topped off with a number 2 candle!
Blowing the candle out!
Next it was time to go and see her birthday surprise in the front yard.......

Then it was off to Edgewood Creamery for her ice cream party with family and friends!
So glad Gigi was there to celebrate and thank you for our sweet ice cream dress!
and per usual, Anna Scott got the biggest welcome hug!
Cousin love!
Big brother was partying too!
When we sang "Happy Birthday" to Caroline she sat there and looked around at all the people just grinning from ear to ear. She KNEW she was the birthday girl! I was so glad that she felt as special as she is :)
Sweet friends!
Sweet Emma from her MDO class!
After the party, we headed home for some outdoor play time and presents!
Anna Scott made Caroline the most precious card and gave her the best gift....her very first Barbie, the 2105 Barbie, the year Caroline was born. It has blonde hair and blue eyes just like her!
Justin, the nurse that took care of her at St. Vincents when she had a health scare last month, came to her party and brought her her very own Hello Kitty. She LOVES it and even took it to church with her the next day!
Lollie and Poppie got her the cutest matching umbrella, rain jacket, and rain boots. We are ready for rainy days!
Thanks for the big girl chair Granmommy and Grandaddy!! Caroline's new favorite spot!
You are TWO and we love YOU :)
Happy 2nd Birthday, Caroline!

Twas' the night before Caroline turned TWO

They told me that she would grow up fast. It's not that I didn't listen, it's just that I didn't realize how true it would be. I can remember her taking her first breath of air like it was last week. I can remember each and every time I would feed her, change her, rock her, console her. What a joy she was and continues to be. Although I get teary eyed (almost daily) about how fast she is growing up, I am SO thankful that she is happy, healthy and growing! I will continue to soak up all that each day brings and never take what the Lord has blessed me with for granted.
Last night as a one year old......

Had to document all her "stuff". Every single night she sleeps with the following: her beloved paci, at least two of her 4 loveys (sometimes all four), her bunny pillow, her bear, a big blanket to "cover up bear" with, and her small blanket to cover her up with. And then in the mornings you have to get all of her "stuff" out of her crib and take it downstairs. :) It may be annoying at times, but I know I will miss it when it's over.
She "rides her horsey" every night before she gets in her crib.
Love you my baby girl.

Splish Splash and First Hair Cut

Who doesn't love a good bath?
In other news, Mama D gave Caroline her first hair "trim"!
And HAPPY 31st BIRTHDAY TO DADDY!!!! Our celebrations got a little thrown off by little miss running high fever right before we left to go to dinner. But Perry's Steakhouse didn't disappoint and neither did the cake! We sure do love you, Alan!
