My sweetest bestie from college married her dream guy and it was the most beautiful celebration. What an honor it was to stand by her side as she said "I do" to her forever love.
This year was a BIG year for my parents and for the August birthday girls. My parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, my mom turned 60, and yours truly turned the big 3-0! My dad surprised my mom with a day trip down memory lane visiting places where they met and started their lives together. He then had the most important women in her life surprise her for dinner. What a special night it was. She truly is one of a kind and worth all the celebrations. Our family would hardly know what to do without her around. She is the glue that holds us together, loving us through the good and the bad, and always selflessly giving her time and efforts to make sure we are taken care of.
These parents of mine. Truly no words to describe how deep my love and admiration is for them. They are a true testament of staying loyal to their vows taken 40 years ago. It isn't always easy but being able to witness their determination to make it through the valleys and their glory in celebrating the peaks has encouraged me to never give up in my own marriage. One of my greatest blessings in this life is having them as my mom and dad. Cheers to 40 years, you both deserve the world.
We headed to Las Vegas (adults only) to celebrate mine and Mom's birthdays! Our birthdays are only one day apart and it is tradition that we celebrate together. We have so many birthday pics of us blowing out candles together and I love it!! Couldn't think of anyone else I would rather share my birthday celebrations with.
Once back home, we had a sweet birthday celebration with the kids. Holding Caroline and John Collins in my arms made this the best birthday yet. Blessings upon blessings in my life that I do not take for granted and thank God for each day.
